BLUE TRACK

Naming part of a Go Kart track the Florida Ski Jump tells you two things right away. Conquest features considerably more elevation than a standard Florida road, and we have never been afraid to have a little fun naming our attractions.

Our Blue Track at Fun Spot America Orlando pairs a multi-level figure-eight layout with a double corkscrew, delivering a ride that feels much smoother from behind the wheel than it looks from the ground. Outside the attraction, the track crosses through different elevations and tucks behind structural supports. Once you pull out of the pit area, the entire layout settles into a natural driving rhythm.

Commander commands attention with its 45-foot peak and Quad Helix shows off its extreme 25-degree banking right out in the open. Conquest takes a different approach by letting its flowing figure-eight layout and sweeping level changes do the heavy lifting. The Blue Track also connects directly to a company history that dates back decades before this specific attraction ever had a name.

Figure-Eight Tracks Have Been Part of Our Story Since 1979

Our founder, John Arie Sr., entered the entertainment industry in 1969 and opened Fun N Wheels on Orlando’s International Drive in 1979. That original park featured Central Florida’s first figure-eight bridge Go Kart tracks. We were already experimenting with roads crossing over themselves long before Fun Spot America Orlando opened its gates.

Those early bridge tracks were much simpler than the multi-level courses we operate today, but the core concept was revolutionary for its time. Once one section of a track can pass directly above another, the designer is no longer restricted to a flat piece of dirt. That opened the door to complex track layouts, and our team kept pushing the limits of the design. By the time our Orlando park opened in the late 1990s, multi-level tracks were a defining piece of the Fun Spot identity.

Conquest carries both eras of that engineering history in a single layout. The figure-eight shape honors those early International Drive courses, while the double corkscrew and elevated steel framework showcase the modern multi-level engineering that gives our team total freedom to shape the road.

How a Figure-Eight Moves Through Vertical Space

Drawing a figure-eight on paper takes about three seconds. Building a functional, high-capacity version for Go Karts requires solving a massive structural puzzle. The track needs generous width, solid foundations, smooth grade transitions, and enough overhead clearance for lanes to cross cleanly without creating a visual tangle.

Conquest utilizes vertical space so different sections of the Blue Track interact without crowding the same ground level. From the park paths, you can look straight through the structure and spot lanes running above, below, and alongside one another. Inside the kart, you never have to decipher the layout all at once. You simply follow the pavement in front of you, with each turn leading naturally into the next section.

That engineered flow gives Conquest a surprisingly relaxed character compared to how busy the structure looks from the midway. The layout performs complex structural work beneath the surface, but it never asks the driver to think about anything other than enjoying the corner.

The Story Behind the Florida Ski Jump

Florida is famous for many things, but snow-covered mountain peaks are certainly not on the list. Naming an elevation drop on an Orlando Go Kart track the Florida Ski Jump felt entirely appropriate for our park.

This feature sits right in the middle of Conquest’s changing elevations and has become one of the most memorable moments on the Blue Track. We do not manufacture complex technical explanations for the name, because a fun attraction name is allowed to just be fun.

It fits the personality of Conquest perfectly. The track is full of places where the road changes height and perspective, so giving a key drop a memorable name feels much more fitting than calling it Elevated Transition Number Three. Kids remember names like that. A young racer might forget the phrase “multi-level figure-eight” before reaching the car, but they will definitely talk about the Florida Ski Jump all the way home.

Structural Patents and Track Engineering

A family can race on Conquest without thinking about structural engineering for even half a second. However, curious guests often enjoy checking out the framework beneath the Blue Track before stepping into the queue, because that floating pavement relies on serious support systems.

Our history with multi-level track construction includes official U.S. patents detailing methods for building elevated driving surfaces over structural frames. Those historical patent documents cover elevated roadways, support bridges, banked curves, figure-eight configurations, and multi-level track layouts.

Conquest puts that structural history on full display. The heavy-duty steel supports carry lanes through multiple tiers, letting the track double back over itself rather than spreading endlessly across the property. A child sees a bright blue road floating in the sky, while an engineer in the same family can appreciate the structural design holding it all up.

What It Feels Like from the Driver’s Seat

The Blue Track can look busy when you stand near the entrance. Multiple lanes cross at different heights, and your eyes naturally try to trace where each section leads.

Once you buckle in, everything simplifies. The track presents itself one section at a time. The figure-eight layout and multi-level drops unfold smoothly around you, giving you sweeping views of Fun Spot Orlando as your kart climbs and descends. Lanes that were high above your head while waiting in line suddenly become the road directly underneath your tires.

You do not need any prior Go Kart experience to master Conquest. Just follow the posted safety rules, listen to our ride operations team, and let the track handle the rest.

Family Double Karts and Co-Pilot Commentary

Conquest runs both single and double Go Karts, giving families great options when younger guests are not quite tall enough to drive independently. Drivers need to be at least 54 inches tall to take the wheel solo, while guests who are at least 36 inches tall can ride as passengers with an adult driver.

That passenger seat transforms a child from a spectator into an active participant. Watching the Blue Track wind through the air is exciting, but sitting next to Mom, Dad, or a grandparent as the kart navigates the corkscrews creates a lifelong memory.

Those young co-pilots also tend to develop strong opinions about how the kart is being handled. Kids who cannot yet reach the pedals in the family vehicle often become instant driving coaches the moment they sit next to a steering wheel. We consider that live commentary part of the experience.

Four Tracks, Four Distinct Personalities

We deliberately design our Orlando Go Kart lineup so that every track offers a completely distinct ride.

Commander centers its experience around a towering 45-foot climb and wide-open park views. Quad Helix focuses on dramatic geometry, using four corkscrews and steep 25-degree banked turns to create a tight, winding ride. Conquest delivers a fluid, continuous rhythm through its figure-eight layout, double corkscrew, and level changes. Thrasher stays close to the ground, offering a fast, classic flat-course layout.

Trying multiple tracks back-to-back shows you just how much layout geometry changes the feel of the drive. Every track in our park has its own clear identity.
